When it first opened at Waterbury-Oxford Airport, Conn., 20 years ago, Keystone Aviation consisted of one 15,000-sq-ft hangar and a passenger terminal. Today, this award-winning FBO has become one of Connecticut’s largest corporate jet complexes, with more than 130,000 sq ft of hangar space, 60,000 sq ft of office space and a newly renovated passenger terminal. Keystone plans to break ground this spring on another 84,000-sq-ft corporate hangar that is scheduled to be ready for occupancy by year-end.
Amenities include quick turns, courtesy cars, gourmet catering, GPU, aircraft maintenance, hangars, automated gate access, coffee and ice and 24/7 on-call service. The pilot lounge includes a flight-planning room, DUAT, WSI and weather briefs, while the passengers can either relax in their own lounge or conduct meetings in the executive conference room.
David Blackburn, the FBO’s v-p and general manager, credits his fuel supplier with part of his success story. He said “Avfuel’s marketing support and AvTrip programs play major roles in promoting our FBO.”
