Canadian training specialist CAE SimuFlite (Booth No. 5813) announced at NBAA’07 that it has launched an expansion of its global training network by adding 16 new business jet training programs to its operations. And with this expansion, CAE will be offering training on 90 percent of all active and in-production business aircraft, the company said.

The new training programs address the six largest business jet aircraft manufacturers, said CAE group president Jeff Roberts. The new programs, most them located in the U.S., will enter service over the next two years.

The portfolio for the new training programs includes full-flight simulators, as well as the CAE SimFinity product suite consisting of two-dimensional and three-dimensional training devices.

In addition, CAE announced that its Gulfstream 550 full-flight simulator located at Emirates-CAE Flight Training Center in Dubai has been certified as ready for training. Also, its Sikorsky S-76B simulator at CAE SimuFlite’s Northeast Training Center, has received FAA level-D approval.

Putting an exclamation point on CAE’s global expansion plans is the announcement at NBAA that the company has signed a contract to design and manufacture two full-flight simulators for Emirates-CAE Flight Training. The contract is valued at $25 million and brings to 18 the total full-flight simulator sales for 2008.

Emirates-CAE is expanding its aviation training facility in Dubai with the addition of two full-flight simulators, one a CAE 7000 series Bombardier Global Express and the other a CAE 5000 series Hawker Beechcraft 8090XPi.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of CAE and, according to Roberts, the Canadian company has delivered more than 700 full-flight simulators in more than 100 countries since it opened its doors in 1947. It has 25 training centers worldwide.
