MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg’s exhibit here (Booth No. 8625) is designed around touting its expertise in supporting General Electric CF34 engines that power business jets such as Bombardier’s Challenger 601, 604 and 605.

That’s no surprise considering the company operates as an authorized service center for GE. It also has an agreement with Pratt & Whitney Canada to maintain JT15D turbofans, as well as the PW300, PW200 and PW500 engines and PT6As. The long-serving JT15Ds power Hawker Beechcraft’s Beechjet 400A and Cessna’s Citation V models, while the newer PW300s are installed on the Learjet 60, Citation Sovereign, Dassault Falcon 7X, Gulfstream G200 and Dornier 328Jet.

In fact, the MTU subsidiary is especially well qualified to support the PW300 and PW500 turbofans because its MTU Aero Engines parent group is a risk-sharing partner in manufacturing these engines. For both, the Munich-based operation makes the complete three-stage low-pressure turbines including the exit cases and mixers. It also performs test runs on this equipment.
