Hawker Beechcraft dominated the business aviation news headlines this week at Asian Aerospace in Hong Kong, announcing 10 new jet sales and the strengthening of its sales network for the promising Asian market. Macau-based charter/management operator Jet Asia ordered four midsize Hawker 900XPs, along with four shorter-range Hawker 750s. Jet Asia will start receiving its new Hawkers in December and plans to base them in Macau and Shanghai, as well as in the Taiwanese capital Taipei and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Also at the Asian Aerospace show, the operator ordered a Bombardier Challenger 605 and Global Express 5000. It is still in the market for a 20-plus-seat business jet for delivery in the middle of next year. Separately, China’s Hainan Airlines ordered a new Hawker 900XP and an 850XP for its Deer Jet executive charter subsidiary. Hawker Beechcraft also announced the opening of a new sales office in Singapore that will cover the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the Middle East, India and Africa. The company has also just appointed China’s Avion Pacific Limited its Hawker and Beechcraft sales representative in China, Hong Kong and Macau.
