Sikorsky announced that the FAA has cleared the S-92 to take off and land in crosswinds up to 35 knots, versus the previous 20-knot limitation, and to carry additional payload based on calculated surplus engine power and specific flight conditions.

To date, the S-92 fleet has logged 50,000 flight hours in its first 33 months of operation. Sikorsky claims major operators experienced an S-92 dispatch rate
of better than 90 percent in June, with an overall fleet average of 93 percent.
