In growing numbers, interiors specialists are taking cues from the automotive industry. The latest is German light-jet developer Grob Aerospace, which unveiled the new executive cabin mockup for its Grob SPn utility jet last month at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. The interior was designed by Porsche Design Studio of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, with the U.S. market in mind. The cabin comes in two configurations–an eight-seat variant with a lavatory and galley/storage forward, and a six-seat version with an aft lavatory and forward galley. According to the company, the eight-seat interior is of a “plug-and-play” design to allow easy conversion from an executive cabin to a cargo configuration. The cabin door will accept a standard 84-centimeter cargo pallet. Grob expects European certification in April.
