NBAA is gearing up to celebrate its 60th anniversary at this year’s annual meeting and convention in Atlanta. The convention, which will also honor the centennial of manned flight in Georgia, will run from September 25 to 27. Organizers expect to build on last year’s record-breaking event by filling more than 1 million sq ft of exhibit space at the Georgia World Congress Center. The static display at Fulton County Airport is expected to be sold out as well, with more than 95 aircraft on display.
As part of the anniversary, NBAA is partnering with Home Depot and a national nonprofit foundation to build an aviation-themed playground for Atlanta’s children, and volunteers are being sought to help build it on Sunday, September 23. NBAA said that last year’s event was named the eighth largest in the country in terms of exhibit space size, up from 37th place the year before.
