Two respected members of the Aviation International News team of journalists collected trophies at a ceremony organized by the UK’s World Leadership Forum and held Sunday evening in Paris.

Stephen Pope collected not one but two awards at this year’s event, bringing to seven the number he has received from the Forum over the years. His first award this year was for the best avionics submission–a category sponsored by Rockwell Collins–for his article, “The promise of synthetic vision: Turning ideas into (virtual) reality.” The presentation was made by Tim Burris, director of enterprise communications. But for Steve, the cherry on the top of the cake was his selection as the overall Journalist of the Year–signified by a rather larger trophy. This was sponsored by Gulfstream Aerospace and the trophy presented by Robert Baugniet, the company’s director of corporate communications.

Thierry Dubois was the other AIN journalist awarded a trophy Sunday. His article, “Upstarts favor electric while establishment sits on fence,” was judged as the Best Systems or Technology submission. This was sponsored by Honeywell on whose behalf Adrian Paull, vice president of customer and product support, presented the trophy.
