The Nordam Group of Tulsa, Okla., has been selected by Cessna Aircraft to provide completion cabinetry for the CJ4, the newest business jet in the Wichita OEM’s Citation stable.
The program is the first Cessna cabinetry contract awarded to Nordam, which recently opened a 120,000-sq-ft cabinetry facility in Wichita, at which it will build, assemble and finish all CJ4 cabinetry. Nordam expects to deliver the first interior as part of an aircraft cabin mockup for display purposes.
Each shipset will be built to Cessna’s design and tailored to meet individual customer specifications of veneers and cabin configuration.
Cessna’s order book for the CJ4 exceeds 110 aircraft, and Nordam estimates the value of the contract to be close to $100 million over the next 10 to 15 years.
The new Wichita facility replaces the former 45,000-sq-ft shop in Tulsa and will take over other aircraft interior contracts, including cabinetry for Embraer’s Legacy 600.
