After 10 years of building a large charter/management company and full-service FBO at McClellan-Palomar Airport in San Diego, Jet Source is preparing to expand with a second FBO at Henderson Executive Airport in Las Vegas. Henderson is a growing alternate destination for Las Vegas-bound travelers who don’t want to deal with congestion at McCarran International Airport, according to Frank Milian, Jet Source president and COO.

Jet Source signed a 30-year lease for the Henderson property late last year and is planning to build two 35,000-sq-ft hangars and a 15,000-sq-ft FBO terminal and office building. One hangar will be dedicated to Jet Source’s charter/management business and the other to maintenance and avionics services. Construction of the new facility will begin this month or next, Milian said, and it should open next June.

“This area has been growing by leaps and bounds,” he said. “It’s a popular destination. You can fly into Henderson and get to the Las Vegas strip quicker than it would take to go to McCarran,” he said. Jet Source plans to provide its own ground transportation to the Las Vegas strip.
