Club Airways, a members-only scheduled business jet charter operation in Europe, has chosen PrivatPort to provide ground handling for its flights from Geneva International Airport. PrivatPort, which operates out of Geneva’s C3 executive terminal, is a new FBO joint venture between business aviation service group PrivatAir and handling company Swissport Geneva.

The deal with Club Airways also calls for PrivatAir’s Paris Le Bourget FBO to handle its flights in the French capital, and for FBO group Swissport Executive Aviation to provide handling for the scheduled operator at Basel and Zurich in Switzerland and at France’s Nice-Cote d’Azur Airport.

On March 7, Club Airways will launch new twice-daily service from London City Airport to Dusseldorf, Germany, as well as between Zurich and Dusseldorf. During April it is set to begin two daily flights between London and Zurich. At the downtown London City Airport, Club passengers board their flights via the new Jet Centre FBO.
From Geneva, Club Airways currently serves Paris, London, Milan and Basel. It is now considering a new London-Paris operation.

Club Airways, which began operations in February last year, now has more than 700 members and is aiming to increase this to at least 3,000 by next February. Annual membership is priced at €1,500 ($1,800) for individuals and €15,000 ($18,000) for companies. The prices paid for individual flights are generally about 10-percent higher than business-class airline tickets on the same routes.

All individuals who apply to join the program are subject to thorough security screening, according to Club Airways. Members are allowed to park at the FBOs used by Club Airways and can check in just 15 minutes before departures.
