The FAA is releasing a new Web-based program that lets the user fill out, digitally sign and print forms online. The user can also interact with the FAA when necessary and forward forms directly to the aircraft registry to be placed in the official aircraft records.

The first application of “eForm Service” gives users access to Form 337. The electronic version, referred to as Electronic Form 337 or e337, mirrors the traditional paper version so the information contained in Advisory Circular (AC) 43.9-1, Instructions for Completion of FAA Form 337 Major Repair and Alteration (Airframe, Powerplant, Propeller or Appliance), is relevant to both methods.

Benefits of the eForm service include a more efficient and standardized interface for inspectors and industry users, instantaneous access and direct processing to the aircraft registry, a common database for internal FAA oversight and monitoring functions, and the ability to query the database for safety trend monitoring and compliance.
