Jet Aviation is working on plans to establish an FBO in Moscow, offering handling as well as business aircraft charter and management. The U.S.-based group’s Swiss division is running the project and it hopes to have an FBO operational at one of the airports in the Russian capital before year-end.

The main obstacles to western business aviation service companies seeking to trade in Russia are complex bureaucracy and regulations. To overcome these problems, Jet Aviation intends to open the new FBO with an undisclosed local partner.

Jet Aviation has previous experience with executive charter flights into Russia. The company is expected to disclose more details about its new Moscow facility next month.
There is already a dedicated general aviation terminal at Moscow Vnukovo Airport. The three main independent companies already involved in providing business aircraft handling in Russia are RusAero, Feras and Streamline Ops.
