Word was circulating last month that the weight of the Quiet Technology hush kit fitted to the Gulfstream III that crashed on November 22 while landing at Houston to pick up former President Bush might have played a role in the accident. However, when asked whether the hush kit was a factor its investigators were considering, the NTSB told AIN that “at this point in the investigation it is not a factor.” The GIII in question had been flying with the 234-pound hush kit since it was installed in April 2003.
