The Aruba Airport Authority has awarded Universal Weather & Aviation the concession to build and operate a new general aviation FBO at the Reina Beatrix Airport. The new terminal building will have direct access roads and customs and immigration facilities on-site. Ground handling services and amenities will include dedicated ramp and parking space; jet-A and 100LL fuel; pilot and passenger lounges; coordination of all ground transportation; on-site catering; line maintenance; flight planning; and weather briefings.

Many employees will come from the local area and must complete UVglobal Network’s Ground Services Training program, which is used throughout the network. Universal now has facilities in more than 50 countries. The new facility in Aruba will give general aviation aircraft complete independence from the main terminal at the popular resort destination. Construction of the new terminal is scheduled to start in the next few months. Temporary facilities will supply ground handling and support as early as this month.
