Wing Aviation on Lone Star Executive Airport near Houston has opened a second paint facility designed to increase overall capacity. The new facility includes a wash rack and provides space for stripping metal and composite preparation processes. It features the same water treatment equipment used in the pre-existing paint facility complete with automated filtration system designed to exceed all EPA and TCEQ requirements.
Company president Brian Wing said, “The quality of our work was one of the driving forces behind our recent alliance with McKinney Aerospace. The new 20,000-sq-ft facility creates a more efficient process and shortens client downtime. It is large enough to accommodate a Global Express or Gulfstream V.”
Wing said the second facility will enable the company to use the original hangar exclusively for priming and painting. “By separating these processes, we will sterilize the existing hangar, thereby creating an even better environment to spray in. The new system will reduce the need for rework and improve overall quality,” he predicted.
