Liberty Air Ventures has signed a 20-year lease for eight acres on the southwest quadrant of Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, where it plans to build a new FBO to serve piston and jet traffic. Groundbreaking is scheduled for this month, and construction should be complete in July or August, according to Liberty Air president Mary Pilgrim. The FBO will be housed in a 3,200-sq-ft terminal/office building next to a 13,000-sq-ft maintenance hangar. The fuel farm will store 20,000 gallons of jet-A and 12,000 gallons of avgas. Liberty Air also plans to offer piston and turbine aircraft maintenance, aircraft rental, aircraft storage and catering.
