Arinc Direct and Starling Advanced Communication have joined forces to offer integrated broadband connectivity to business jet customers. The agreement calls for the integration of Arinc’s SkyLink satellite data service with Starling’s fuselage-mounted satcom antennas. The companies plan to jointly develop and market the system to potential buyers. “As of next year we will be able to offer connectivity solutions for all midsize and large business jets,” said Robert Thompson, senior director of satellite services for Arinc. The Starling antennas are unique in that they fold open when in use and are capable of download speeds of around 3.5 megabits per second. Founded in 2003 to develop commercial satcom antennas, Starling is owned by Elron Electronic Industries, RDC and Elbit Systems. The company is based in Israel.
