Extending paint life and preventing corrosion are money-saving claims for the use of Xzilon, a liquid formula developed by Granitize of South Gate, California. Xzilon has been certified for application by major airframe manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing.

The liquid is easy to apply and its effectiveness has been checked in tests conducted by Boeing Materials Technology, which included 1,300 hours of salt spray chamber exposure, simulated rain erosion on painted and bare metal surfaces, and UV Block/ UV30 effectiveness. At the Granitize exhibit here at EBACE (Booth No. 1357) a test panel treated with Xzilon is measured for the depth of protection.

The enhanced corrosion protection would benefit those operating aircraft in a marine environment, and Xzilon prevents paint fading or stains from acid rain, while UV protection prolongs paint life, thus reducing repaint costs and aircraft downtime.
