Prism Business Media, a business-to-business communications and information publishing company, has acquired the aviation industry newsletter SpeedNews and the publication’s aviation industry conferences. “With the integration of SpeedNews, we will be able to provide our combined customers with a broader array of aviation information and marketing services,” said Shawn Etheridge, senior vice president of information data products for Prism. SpeedNews was founded in 1979 and is based in Los Angeles. Prism Business Media has headquarters in New York City. Its other aviation-related products include Ac-u-Kwik FBO/Airport directories, The Aircraft Bluebook, The Air Charter Guide and The Executive Traveler Edition. SpeedNews founder Gilbert Speed will continue to serve as a consultant to Prism, chairing the SpeedNews conference series and overseeing content for the newsletters.
