Long-time South Texas FBO McCreery Aviation celebrated its 60th anniversary on October 27. Founded at Mercedes Airport in 1946 by J.F. “Mac” McCreery, the FBO moved to what later became McAllen Miller International Airport in 1948. Mac’s son Bob is president of McCreery Aviation, a sprawling FBO that includes 148,000 sq ft of hangars, offices and FBO terminal, and 550,000 sq ft of ramp space. The latest addition was a 15,000-sq-ft hangar built earlier this year on the site of the original 1948 FBO offices.

With its location in a sparsely populated area, McCreery Aviation is a true full-
service FBO offering fuel, hangar storage, maintenance, avionics sales and service, charter, air ambulance, sales and aircraft management services. “With the vision of my parents, Mac and Ardath McCreery, and the hard work of many dedicated employees,” said McCreery, “we continue to be the most progressive, customer-oriented full-service FBO in South Texas.”
