Embraer has tapped DeCrane Aircraft to complete the interiors of its new Lineage 1000 large executive jet. The two companies announced the deal here yesterday. Under the agreement, key interior components such as seating, furniture and entertainment systems will also be supplied by DeCrane. Embraer announced the $40.95 million aircraft, based on its EMB 190 large regional jetliner, in May. In typical executive configuration the aircraft seats 13 to 19 passengers and has a range of 4,000 nm.

The multi-year deal calls for Embraer to fly green aircraft to DeCrane’s PATS facility in Georgetown, Del. The first aircraft is expected to arrive during the third quarter of 2007. Production is eventually expected to ramp up to four aircraft per year under the deal, according to Bob Martin, president of DeCrane’s Systems Integration group. Martin called the Lineage contract one of the largest in PATS history. The deal also calls for DeCrane to provide interior kits for the Lineage to other centers completing the Lineage 1000.

The agreement could cover as many as 35 aircraft. Embraer and DeCrane are working with London designer Paul Priestman to develop specific floor plans and modular designs. Priestman’s best-known aviation work includes interior design for Airbus and Lufthansa. Priestman said that he is working on developing “flexible and exciting” concepts for the Lineage.
