Swearingen SA-227-AC Metro, Miami, Fla., March 30, 2005–An IBC Airways Swearingen on an instructional flight hit a deer while landing at Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in VMC. The ATP pilot and copilot/check airman were not injured, but the airplane incurred substantial damage. During the landing rollout, while the engines were in reverse with the airplane at a speed of about 50 knots, the airplane’s left propeller hit a deer that had run onto the runway. The impact killed the deer and detached the propeller, which punctured the fuselage.
