Central Flying Services at Adams Field (LIT), Little Rock, Ark., claims it is the largest full-service FBO on the planet, with more than 550,000 sq ft under roof. Not satisfied with that claim, the FBO is beginning construction on a new 45,000-sq-ft storage hangar that will increase its overall size to about 600,000 sq ft. Construction is set to begin in the summer.
The new hangar will measure 180 by 250 feet, with 28-ft-high doors to accommodate aircraft up to the size of a G550 or Global Express. Part of the motivation for Central Flying Service’s building the hangar is the added pressure on its maintenance shop. The new storage facility will free some 16,000 sq ft of space in another hangar for more shop room.
A family-owned business, Central Flying Service was founded in 1939 and employs more than 300 on its 63-acre leasehold.
