In The Works: Cessna CJ2+
Cessna received FAA type certification of its CJ2+ on October 3.

Cessna received FAA type certification of its CJ2+ on October 3. Deliveries of the twinjet are scheduled to start in the second quarter of next year. Announced at the 2004 NBAA Convention, the CJ2+ is an upgraded CJ2 featuring FADEC-equipped Williams International FJ44-3A-24 turbofans and greater payload, higher maximum cruise speed, more range and better runway performance than its predecessor.

According to Cessna, 17 of the ā€œmost popularā€ avionics options not available on the CJ2 are standard on the CJ2+. New standard items include 110-volt electrical outlets, belted flushing toilet, left-side storage and indirect LED lighting. The $5.525 million twinjet also features an enhanced version of the Collins Pro Line 21 avionics system. Cessna has approximately 60 orders in hand, so a CJ2+ ordered today won’t be available for delivery until the second quarter of 2007.
