TAG Aviation, the Swiss-based operator of Farnborough Airport, has applied to local authorities to double the number of weekend movements permitted at the London-area airport from 2,500 to 5,000 per year. The airport is subject to an overall annual limit of 28,000 movements per year. The application has attracted resistance from opposition political parties, and TAG is planning a series of briefings to allay the concerns of local residents and leaders.
