He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in education from the University of Illinois, has taught aviation for over 35 years in industry and as a university professor and academic dean at three different universities. He is also a frequent seminar and after-dinner motivational speaker.&nbsp;
Lombardo holds an A&amp;P Certificate, ATP, CFI and Ground Instructor ratings. He was a corporate pilot and was a research pilot and flight instructor at the University of Illinois. Former Securaplane executive Mark Lukso has started Lux Aviation Engineering. The Tucson, Ariz. company’s first products designed for the business aviation market are main ship and emergency/standby Kokam lithium polymer batteries.
Lux Aviation has signed an agreement with Kokam America as the exclusive worldwide distributor and design authority for all aviation applications. According to Lukso, the company also plans to bring two or three additional avionics alliances and/or new technologies to the business and commercial aviation sectors.
Lukso, who is joined by his brother Dennis in the business, said the company’s product experience includes flight control, navigation systems, battery and battery-charging technologies, power electronics, aircraft security systems and intra-aircraft wireless systems.
