Innotech Aviation reported that it has completed its first installation of an enhanced-vision system (EVS) in an ultra-long-range Bombardier Global Express XRS, making the completions center one of the few facilities in the world to perform the modification.

The full system activation on the aircraft’s Thales head-up display (HUD) occurred at Innotech’s technical service headquarters in Montreal. Bombardier recently obtained certification of the system from Transport Canada, the FAA and the European Aviation Safety Agency, making it the second business jet maker to do so behind Gulfstream. The system is a standard feature on the Global Express XRS, is available as an option on the Global 5000 and can be retrofitted in Global Expresses currently in service. Innotech is an authorized completion center for the airplanes.

Developed in cooperation with Thales, the overall HUD and EVS integrator, and CMC Electronics, which supplies the SureSight I-Series infrared EVS camera, the system provides improved situational awareness in low visibility and extends certain landing credits to operators at U.S. airports.
