Starting February 1, owners and operators of aircraft with “questionable registrations and/or no TSA required security measures/ waivers” might be denied access to the National Airspace System (NAS). The FAA in December published a notice reiterating a 2003 requirement that aircraft registration be updated at least every three years “in the interests of national security and aviation safety.” Incomplete or invalid registration data can lead to a change in registration status from “valid” to “in question.” After February 1, operators with questionable registrations “may be denied access to the NAS.”
