Rectrix Aerodrome Centers is building a new FBO facility with hangars at Florida’s Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport. “We’re hoping to open in late fall,” said Kevin Bradley, general manager of the company’s Hyannis, Mass. FBO. Rectrix’s Hyannis facility opened last September, bringing a new level of service to Barnstable Municipal Airport-Boardman/Polando Field. While Rectrix is allowed to provide fuel to owned and managed aircraft, the FBO doesn’t have fuel rights for transient traffic. “We’re trying to get that changed,” said Bradley. For those who are wondering why the name Rectrix, the word refers to one of the stiff main feathers in a bird’s tail, used to control flight.
