Yingling Aviation, located on Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, has completed its first RVSM-compliant modification of a Cessna turboprop on a 1979 Conques

Yingling Aviation, located on Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, has completed its first RVSM-compliant modification of a Cessna turboprop on a 1979 Conquest II equipped with the Sperry 1000 integrated flight control system. The equipment installation will allow the airplane, which has a service ceiling of 35,000 feet, to operate in RVSM airspace between FL290 and FL410.

Using a supplemental type certificate developed by AeroMech of Everett, Wash., in cooperation with Corporate Aircraft of Fresno, Calif., Yingling modified the airplane in less than a week, removing its original altimeters and installing two new Thommen air data display units. In Oklahoma City Arinc conducted a GPS monitoring unit flight to verify the accuracy of the newly installed equipment. Cessna has also selected Yingling to design and build executive-style Oasis interiors for its line of Caravan single-engine turboprops.
