Earlier this month, aerospace service and support company Reliance Aerotech announced that it had acquired Richmond-based Flight Crews Unlimited.

Reliance Aerotech general manager Ron Jordan told AIN that Flight Crews Unlimited being a family-owned operation was an appealing part of the acquisition.

“They have some great strengths to their own dedication and relationships with each other and their employees, and of course we want to leverage those legacy strengths. Reliance is more experienced with using sophisticated management tools and creating efficient processes for both sales prospecting and ultimately customer contact and delivery of high-quality services. I think our plan going forward is to continue to compare the operational model of both companies and to leverage the strengths of one to strengthen another.”

Reliance CEO and founder Glynn Williams said the acquisition will help with mission staffing, direct hire and contract-to-direct recruitment, task order and project-based service fulfillment, and technical labor force advisory services.

“The acquisition of Flight Crews Unlimited, Inc. enhances our offerings to sophisticated aerospace customers, complementing our existing aviation maintenance and sustainment services,” he said.

“We are excited to join the Reliance team as the shared passion and commitment to excellence, customer service, professionalism, technical knowledge, and integrity positions us all for further success,” said Flight Crews Unlimited founder and president Robert Tolomeo. “Together, we will be able to offer our customers additional services and capabilities. Both Glynn and I started our aviation businesses from humble beginnings and are grateful to have been supported in this journey by our wonderful customers and amazing employees and staff, who do incredible things every day.”
