Citadel Completions is celebrating its second consecutive win of the FAA Diamond Award, given when 100 percent of a company’s eligible employees receive an AMT Certificate of Training for a calendar year.
Michelle Savoy of Citadel told AIN that the company attributes the win, in part, to efforts by training manager Sunshine Dickson.
“She trains all of our employees on aircraft airframes and so forth," Savoy said. "Whenever we have new things that come up, she's the trainer. The FAA Diamond Award is something that she's very passionate about. Continual learning and pushing advancement as far as making these techs know we want to stand out—she really pushes that to the forefront. She works diligently with the technicians to get the participation. And it's pretty amazing that we had over 100 employees as a part of the process and got the recognition.”
Savoy said another factor was Citadel’s technician team. “Our technicians are the lifeblood of our company, and they believe in it," she said. "We encourage them to push themselves. People who don't have their AMT, we support them in doing that. But we also train them internally and we commit a significant amount of time for continual improvement and learning and development.”
Citadel is based at Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
