Oman Air has taken delivery of its first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The order for the BCF marked the first for a dedicated cargo aircraft for the Muscat-based carrier.

Oman added the aircraft as its cargo business saw volume increase 42 percent year-over-year during the first half of 2023.  The BCF can carry up to 23.9 tonnes of freight.

“The freighter will contribute to the growth of the air cargo logistics sector in Oman and beyond and will be based at our strategically located Muscat hub and will enhance our ability to connect the East and the West,” Oman Air said.

Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Co. completed the freighter conversion.
