Both pilots of a Boeing 737-200 cargo plane survived a crash into the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of Honolulu Friday, the FAA has confirmed.

Transair Flight 810 ditched about two miles from the coast at about 1:30 a.m. local time after the pilots reported engine trouble soon after takeoff from Honolulu.

The FAA said in a statement that the U.S. Coast Guard rescued both crewmembers.
