SimAero 737-800 Simulator Approved for Upset Training
Pilots can now undergo upset training in a 737-800 simulator at SimAero's Paris training center.

SimAero’s Boeing 737-800 Level D full-flight simulator has received EASA certification for upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) and full stall and icing capabilities. The EASA certificate was issued by France’s DGAC.

The simulator, located at SimAero’s Paris training center near Charles de Gaulle Airport, features a Moog electric-pneumatic motion control system and RSI Raster XT5 180-90-degree visual display system. Aircraft equipment includes CFM56-7B27/B1 engines, ACAS II, and ETOPS capability. The UPRT upgrade is Bihrle’s Stallbox and was completed by TRU Simulation + Training. “Stallbox has been selected because of such important advantages as easy installation with minimal downtime, no impact on existing simulator certification and no interference with future baseline simulation updates,” according to SimAero.

All of SimAero’s type rating programs have been updated with UPRT scenarios, which have also been updated in SimAero’s learning management system for ground school training.
