Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S, Stand E99), is taking another step on its journey to leverage technology to improve operations, is collaborating with Atlas Copco (AC) to use that company's digital tooling. The agreement, announced at the Singapore Airshow, will start with Abu Dhabi-based engine overhaul specialist using AC's digital torque wrench, Mansoor Janahi, TS&S deputy CEO, told AIN.
"This collaboration supports our vision of being a digitally agile MRO company," Janahi said, adding that the precision of a digital wrench will reduce assembly and disassembly time and improve accuracy.
TS&S, which specializes in IAE V2500 and Trent 700 overhauls and will become a full-service GE GEnx and Rolls-Royce Trent XWB repair and overhaul facility, is embracing digital technology to streamline its operations. Last month, it announced it would integrate Honeywell's maintenance and inspection voice system into its operation. It also is working with IBM on broader initiatives to leverage data analytics and improve its operations.
