The A350-900 XWB arrived at Tokyo Haneda Airport Wednesday on the second stop of an 11-day, five-city demonstration tour of Asia. A350-900 MSN005 arrived in Japan after making its first stop on Monday at Seoul Gimpo International Airport, home of A350 customer Asiana Airlines. The remainder of the tour will take the Airbus flight crew to Hanoi, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, from which they’ll return home to Toulouse on November 28.

This Asian tour follows the completion of the A350-900 flight test campaign, which recently led to the EASA and FAA type certification. The new widebody already visited Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia earlier this year during the route proving certification exercise. Orders from Asia-Pacific carriers account for roughly a third of all the 750 A350s on backlog.

One of five A350-900 test aircraft, MSN005 features a fully functional cabin carrying 42 business class and 223 economy class seats. The demonstration exercise comes Airbus prepares for first delivery to Qatar Airways on December 12.
