Honeywell (Booth 6622) is promoting a range of updates that can be applied to its satellite communication, avionics and cabin management systems. Such offerings can help operators extend the life cycle of their current fleets as well as increase asset value and reliability. Moreover, the modifications can enhance passenger experience as well as help operators meet new regulatory mandates.
Examples of such retrofits include adding Honeywell’s Aspire 200 and AMT-700 high-gain satcom antenna for the Bombardier Challenger 300, enabling the delivery of Inmarsat SwiftBroadband voice and data connectivity in the cabin. The STC for the retrofit was completed by MNG Jet of Turkey. Another satcom-based initiative is the installation of the AMT-50 high-gain antenna for the Dassault Falcon 900, 2000 and 7X, providing multi-channel, full-hemispherical Inmarsat coverage.
Other Honeywell upgrades on offer include the ability to update the Ovation C-Series cabin management system with many of the digital capabilities of the Ovation Select CMS, including high-definition video, and the ability to operate cabin functions from personal electronic devices.
For older Falcon aircraft not equipped with the EASy cockpit, Honeywell is offering the Falcon Elite II flightdeck to update Falcon 900C and 900EX aircraft. Due to be certificated in the last quarter of 2014, Falcon Elite II enables ADS-B out, (FANS) future air navigation system and CPDLC (controller pilot data link communication).
To provide peace of mind and more predictable maintenance costs for owners and operators, Honeywell is highlighting its Honeywell avionics protection plan (HAPP) Gold tier. This is an extension of the current HAPP plan to include reduced AOG times and priority deliveries of replacement components.
