Bombardier Aerospace announced last month that Nordic Aviation Capital of Billund, Denmark, has signed a firm purchase agreement to acquire four Q400 turboprops. Bombardier places the value of the contact, based on list prices, at $134.77 million.

Plans call for the four airplanes to go to airBaltic of Riga, Latvia, where eight Q400s ordered directly from Bombardier already operate. Now also flying 14 Boeing 737s and six Fokker 50s and holding a firm order and purchase rights covering 20 Bombardier CSeries jets, airBaltic plans to transition to an all-Bombardier fleet following planned delivery of its first CSeries CS300 in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Other recent transactions undertaken by NAC and involving Bombardier’s commercial aircraft include the sale and leaseback of 10 Q400s to Marfin Investment Group for operation by Olympic Air; the sale and leaseback of eight Q400s delivered to Eurolot of Poland; and the purchase of 12 CRJ1000 regional jets for lease to Garuda Indonesia.
