Japanese carrier ANA is preparing for the first-ever passenger flight by the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner on October 26, when it will operate a special charter service from Tokyo Narita International Airport to Hong Kong.
Seats on the inaugural flight are to be auctioned and sold by lottery, and the airline will conduct several special charter flights before beginning scheduled domestic services on November 1 from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to Okayama and Hiroshima.
The new widebody’s first international scheduled flight will connect the Japanese capital with Beijing, China, from December 2011, and with Frankfurt, Germany, from January 2012. By the end of 2011, ANA also plans to have launched other domestic scheduled routes from Tokyo to the cities of Itami, Yamaguchi Ube and Matsuyama.
The carrier is due to take delivery of its first Dreamliner by the end of September.
