AvCraft Support Services and Colombia’s Indaer Industrial Aeronautica last month announced the formation of a joint venture to provide heavy maintenance on ATR 42s and 72s at AvCraft’s Myrtle Beach, S.C. facilities.
AvCraft, a heavy maintenance provider for the Dornier 328Jet and 328 turboprop and a former type certificate holder for 328 manufacture in Germany, began working with Indaer earlier this year, when the Medellin, Colombia-based company began supporting AvCraft with training and equipment for ATR maintenance. Indaer has engaged in maintenance planning, engineering and MRO services for ATR operators for seven years. Its customers span five continents.
The contract calls on AvCraft to contribute its heavy maintenance expertise while Indaer provides engineering and program management support. Almost 200 ATRs fly for 31 operators throughout
the Americas.
