Bombardier Inks European Training Pact for C Series
Bombardier Aerospace, Lufthansa Flight Training (LFT) and Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT), yesterday signed the first authorized training provider (ATP)

Bombardier Aerospace, Lufthansa Flight Training (LFT) and Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT), yesterday signed the first authorized training provider (ATP) agreement for the new Bombardier C Series airliner. Under the terms of the contract, LFT will provide pilot and cabin crew training while LTT provides technical training for Europe-based operators of the 110-passenger CS100 and 130-passenger CS300, scheduled to enter into service in 2013. LFT operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa AG while LTT does business as a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG.

Both LFT and LTT will benefit from the use of Bombardier course materials while using their own instructors, infrastructure and simulators. They plan to employ the latest so-called e-learning, classroom and simulator training technologies, all of which meet or exceed the European Aviation Safety Agency’s and other regulatory requirements.

Training services for the C Series in Europe will mirror the training that Bombardier will conduct in the Montreal area. The parties expect to begin training in 2013, in advance of the first delivery. Bombardier said it intends to pursue other ATP opportunities for other regions.
