Snecma Services has signed a three-year maintenance contract with privately-owned Bahrain Air to support the CFM56-5A engines that power the carrier’s fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft–which will number four by the end of the year.
The new “premium low-priced” carrier, which was one-year old on July 2 and offers both economy and business-class seating, started flying on February 1. The carrier has also contracted the Safran Group to provide engine line operation support. “We were looking for a partner that could contribute in preventative maintenance,” said Moeen Al Bastaki, Bahrain Air’s v-p of engineering.
