Fairchild Dornier at last month’s NBAA Convention in New Orleans chalked orders for three more Envoy 3s, bringing the order book for the executive-configured high-wing twinjet to 10, according to Dean Rush, president of the company’s corporate aircraft division. To date, eight Envoy 3s have been delivered to customers.

AvCraft Jetcharter placed an order for an Envoy 3 that it will operate for an undisclosed Ohio-based company as a corporate shuttle. Meanwhile, Monterrey, Mexico-based Grupo Protexa bought an Envoy 3 for such widespread corporate activities as construction, air ambulance operations and tourism. One other Envoy 3 corporate shuttle has been ordered and delivered to an undisclosed customer.

These latest orders bring the total 328JET/Envoy 3 order book to 140 aircraft, with options for 93 more. Of those, 76 aircraft have been delivered, Rush said.

As for the 728JET/Envoy 7, Rush said the program is on schedule: rollout at the company’s primary development and manufacturing facility in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, early this year; certification next year; and deliveries to start in mid-2004. So far, Rush said, the company has received orders for 119 copies of the 728JET/Envoy 7 and options for another 162.

Fairchild Dornier is in the process of selecting a U.S. completion center for the Envoy 7’s interior, and interior completions outside North America will be performed by Lufthansa Technik of Hamburg, Germany. The U.S. completion center for the Envoy 3 is AvCraft Completions of Tyler, Texas.

In other Fairchild Dornier news, three executives have been added to the corporate aircraft division: Steve Lassetter, v-p of international sales; Randy Becker, v-p of corporate aircraft sales, who will be based in San Antonio; and Blair Descourouex, sales director of the central U.S., who will be based in Dallas.
