Stuttgart, Germany-based DC Aviation (formerly known as DaimlerChrysler Aviation) replaced NetJets in December as the executive jet service provider for Lufthansa Private Jet (LPJ), the business jet division of Deutsche Lufthansa. The Germany-based airline and NetJets Europe terminated their partnership last year, but there is disagreement about the effective date. Lufthansa insists the agreement is valid until this month, but NetJets asserts that Lufthansa has already used all of its share-allocated flight hours. Lufthansa, which has been offering the combined airline-business jet product since 2005, on December 7 announced it will buy its own airplanes–between five and 10 jets–to cope with rising demand. The airline claims these jets will enter service this spring.
