JetBlue Airways last month recruited Houston-based ExpressJet to fly four 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145s as replacements for each pair of E190s it sends to Embraer’s heavy maintenance center in Nashville to address service bulletins and install avionics
software upgrades. The deal will see ExpressJet airplanes flying in place of the JetBlue E190s from New York to Columbus, Ohio and Richmond, Va., and from Boston to Buffalo and Washington, D.C. JetBlue expected to finish the work on its 25 E190s by the end of this month.
