Emirates Airline and Lufthansa Technik subsidiary Hawker Pacific signed a contract here yesterday covering exchange, overhaul and support of the landing gear on the carrier’s 21 Boeing 777-200, -200ER and -300 aircraft. The three models have respective maximum takeoff weights of 545,000, 632,000 and 660,000 pounds.

Hawker Pacific is the world’s only maintenance, repair and overhaul company to offer exchange assets for all three weight configurations of the 777.

In another extension of the German maintainer’s activities in the UAE, HH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of Amiri Flight Abu Dhabi, and Lufthansa Technik executive board chairman August Hennigsen signed an agreement to explore the possibility of setting up an operation at Abu Dhabi International Airport to support executive and VIP jets. Activities would include FBO services, fueling, ground handling, line maintenance and interior refurbishment.
