Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has signed an exclusive five-year agreement with Avions de Transport Regional to maintain engines for Air Deccan’s fleet of ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprop aircraft. The two-and-a-half-year-old Air Deccan offers short-haul domestic service in India.

Under the terms of the agreement P&WC will provide engine maintenance and accessory coverage for the no-frills carrier’s fleet of PW127 and PW121 engines. The contract includes the airline’s 2005 order for 30 ATR 72-500s, some of which have been delivered already.

P&WC will establish hot section inspection (HSI) capability in India by year-end to support Air Deccan’s fleet nd the growing number of commercial and corporate perators in India.
