Fred Buttrell resigned his position as president of Delta subsidiary Comair in late May, days after a bankruptcy court judge rejected the airline’s request to void the union contract with its Teamsters-represented flight attendants. Buttrell, 43, had served in the post since last January, after a disastrous holiday scheduling snafu prompted Delta to relieve former president Randy Rademacher of his duties. A resident of Atlanta, Buttrell cited family priorities as the reason for his decision to leave the Cincinnati-based carrier.

Delta has named Comair CFO Donald Bornhorst the regional’s new president. Before becoming CFO last year, Bornhorst served as Comair’s senior v-p of customers. A CPA, he joined Comair in 1991 as manager of internal audit and special projects. Company and flight attendant representatives said the change would not affect contract talks.
